This lecture includes the basic mechanical performance of steel reinforcement and concrete, the strength of concrete loaded in multi-axis, the stress-strain relationships of steel and concrete, the contact and connection of concrete and steel bar, the bearing capacity of basic element, the cracks and deformation of concrete, the concept of elasto-plastic theory, the dispersion method of reinforced concrete in finite element method, the nonlinear calculation methods, the finite element method for frame structures, the 3-D finite element method for RC elements, the dynamic nonlinear analysis of RC structures etc.
The key points of this lecture are the nonlinear performance and calculation models of reinforced concrete under different loading conditions as well as the nonlinear analysis methods of reinforced concrete with finite element method.
The lecture books and references will be used and the recent research results in this area will be introduced. The ability of study and research of students will be emphasized through homework and discussion.
The concept of reinforced concrete structural design and elasto-plastic theory as well as finite element method should be learned for students before choosing this lecture.
