Forming media consortium is an important measure of the reform and development of the media industry. Media consortium is a strategy generally adopted by the world's media organizations, and has become the big trend of the development of world's media. Since China's entry into WTO, the pace of the media consortium has been accelerated noticeably. Under the background of the industry's highly competition, the strategy of media consortium is of great importance to the survival and development of media consortiums. This course combines the analysis and discussion of students together, starting from analysis of the media consortium's organizational structure and operating methods, through analyzing the status quo and the specific cases of China's media consortiums ,in conjunction with the successful cases of foreign media consortiums, trying to explore experience and inspiration the foreign media consortiums have shown to those of China's ,thus to find out the development road with Chinese characteristics of the domestic media consortium. Through participation in the classroom discussions and the after-school case study of independent analysis, students will have a better understanding of the basic laws of media management, and will be familiar the classical cases of the domestic and foreign media. It will also help to expand their vision and grasp the methods of raising criticism and the proposals. It also enables them to learn case analysis, cultivating them with the ability to connect the theory to the reality.
