Linear control system theory is the foundation of modern control theory. It introduces systematically methods about the modeling, analysis and design of linear control systems. It first introduces the transfer function (matrix) description and state space description and conversion methods between them; next introduces the qualitative properties, quantitative characteristics and structural properties of linear control systems, and definitions and physical meaning of some important concepts, such as controllability, observability, Lyapunov stability. Then it introduces state feedback and output feedback control law design methods based on pole assignment, and optimal feedback controller design methods and conclusions based on the quadratic performance index and state observer design method.
