This course introduces the role of biophysics and physical methods in the study of biological systems. The contents cover molecular boiphysics, cellular (membrane) biophysics, systems biology etc, focusing on the recent progress and research frontier in these fields.
The course is run in the combination of lecture presentation, literature reading and discussion, and lab probation and practice. Students are assigned reading literatures and should be prepared to present and discuss it, including questions on material they do not understand. Questions are developed during class that require outside work to answer. Class attendance is compulsory and is a factor in grades, along with participation in class discussion, written homework, such as research comments and reviews.
